To our orthodontic family:
As you are probably already aware, in light of concerns surrounding coronavirus and in response to the latest recommendation from the White House and the California Dental Association and to also protect our patient family and staff, we are suspending all non-essential care with the plan to reopen and return to our regular schedule once we have been cleared to do so by the California Dental Association. Although we will not be seeing patients for routine appointments, we will continue to be available for emergency care.
To help with social distancing, following the proper protocol to avoid brackets and appliances from breaking is now more important than ever since the American Association of Orthodontists and the California Dental Association consider these type of repairs to be “non-essential procedures” and have to be deferred until the COVID-19 situation is behind us.
With that in mind, please remember to avoid any hard, crunchy, sticky foods and refrain from biting on foreign objects like pens, blankets or opening bottles with your teeth. This will greatly lessen the chance of your brackets and appliances from breaking and avoid delays with your treatment.
We encourage you to once again review the handouts we provided you the day you got started with your braces and invite to you also visit our website (drkbraces.com) where you can also find these handouts under the “Patient Info” tab along with several other helpful tips. Please continue to check our website along with our Facebook and Instagram pages for current updates as well.
I know I speak for my entire team when I tell you that we can’t wait to get back to our normal schedule so we can return to doing what we love and to see all of you again as we work together to achieve a healthy and beautiful smile for each and every one of you.
Until then, keep smiling and most of all Be Safe!
